I am currently getting my M.S. in Nonprofit Leadership at Fordham University. What does this have to do with golf and Jordan Spieth?

Philanthropy.

Philanthropy is the desire to promote the welfare of others, expressed especially by the generous donation of money to good causes. It can also be the desire to promote the welfare of others, expressed by an influencer.

The influencer that we are talking about is Jordan Spieth, who recently participated in the opening of a playground to help encourage social interaction as well as physical and cognitive development of children of all ages and abilities. Each area of the park has graduated activities so that the playground activity challenges progress with the growth and ability levels of each individual child. Also involved in project were members of the City of Dallas, the Lake Highlands Junior Women’s League, the Lake Highlands Exchange Club and For the Love of the Lake.

Jordan Spieth has a younger sister Ellie who was born with a neurological disorder that leaves her with a mental age of five which surely inspired Jordan to become a philanthropist for specific reasons.

The Spieth Family Foundation‘s mission is to offer philanthropic support and help raise awareness in four areas: special needs youth, junior golf, military support and pediatric cancer.
