The East Coast Blizzard in the US, better known as “Jonas” has arrived with full force. On the other side of the world at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship, however, Jordan Spieth, Rickie Fowler and Rory McIlroy are at it again playing alongside 122 other players with a hurdle that is preventing the players to finish their rounds. Fog and mist. Other than the weather preventing them to get in their grooves, the players are feeling the pressure of such an impressive leaderboard.
“It’s a really bunched leaderboard,” said McIlroy, who ended his second round on Saturday morning with a birdie-eagle finish to be tied for second. “It will be a bit of a sprint to the finish.”
Rickie is excited to relax a bit knowing that tomorrow is going to be a lot of golf saying “…looking forward to getting back, get some food, rest. It’s going to be a long day tomorrow and hopefully a lot of birdies.”
And Ian Poulter is optimistic with a strong start in 2016: “It’s nice to see myself on the board. It’s nice to get off to a good start to 2016 and hopefully I can continue that through tomorrow and have a good finish.”
Keep an eye on the leaderboard:
