So, before I post my follow up on my “lesson” and fitting with TaylorMade, I have come across an incredible story that I think gains rank over my most recent experience. This blog post is a feature story about a man who does not take no for an answer-his name is Colin Chandler and he is a golfer that just so happens to be blind.

At the young age of 15, Chandler knew something was wrong with his eyes. He was developing Choroideremia a disorder that causes progressive loss of vision due to degeneration of the choroid and retina. Through many struggles, Chandler has accomplished many things-most recently, 5 months ago he started to golf!

Just imagine stepping up to the tee and having little to no idea where the ball is teed up, where the fairway ends and where the flag is on the green. It’s pretty scary, but in a way calming. Chandler with the help of his coach who tells him where to aim, plays shot by shot, slowly and more carefully than most golfers out there.

He is literally able to focus on just the club, the ball and the wind-which most seeing golfers spend years working on.

Chandler is a hero to many and he will continue to work on his game and one day, maybe even play in some tournaments.
