EDISON, N.J. – It’s deja vu all over again. Dash runs onto the green and gives his dad a big hug and kiss.”It’s been a special summer for me and it’s not over” Day proudly says with a few tears in his eyes.
Early this morning Day, while heading to the range said: “I’m anxious,” not knowing what the day had in store for him. He’s had his ups, he’s had his downs, just like everyone, but this summer seems to be all his. Day finished with a 6 shot lead finishing the tournament at -19 under.
Jason Day’s wins this year:
Farmers Insurance Open: Playoff
RBC Canadian Open: By one
PGA Championship: By three
The Barclays: By six
He’s on fire right now and seems ready and excited for next week in Boston.
Yesterday, Day talked about the groove he’s in right now and how he is focusing more on keeping his summer swing consistent rather than going out to just win. “Right now, the groove that I’m in, I’m trying to keep the same swing that I’ve been doing over the summer, and I’m not really trying to focus on, you know, winning tomorrow. Obviously it’s hard to stay present, but I mean, I’ve just got to get some rest tonight and kind of come into tomorrow’s round and be patient out there.”
Well folks, he got some rest, he stayed focused on the course and was most definitely patient through the final round here at Plainfield CC!
