Tiger Woods: His Journey at Wyndham

Yesterday, Tiger Woods was all smiles-and he had reason to be! He walked off of his 18th hole tied for first at -11. Sounds like two fantastic rounds to me…but for Tiger, and most golfers out there, you can always do better. Tiger was asked during his interview after the round if he thought he was “there” and his response was “You’re never there. Even when I had my good rounds and tournaments and good spells throughout my career you’re never there. You’re always trying to get a little bit better. Hell, I’ve shot 59 and I left a couple shots out there. So, there’s always — the great thing about golf, you can always get a little bit better.” There is no surprise whatsoever that Tiger has the mentality that there is always better.

Tiger has been sticking to the Nike motto: “Just Do It” and he fights. He has overcome so many obstacles that people who never thought they could “forgive” him for all of the things he’s done in the past, are happy to see the spark that he has this week going into the weekend. Tiger was a hero-the hero stumbled and fell a number of times, but he picked himself up, fought hard and is in it to win this weekend.

All eyes are on Tiger, for sure but a few others of note creeped up in the leaderboard after round two, including Snedeker who went into the second round even par and finished -9 T5, “I’ve had a couple chances to win here at Sedgefield and love the golf course. Just have — we always have a good time, relaxing week. It kind of bleeds over into the golf.” Snedeker said regarding his successful track record in the North Carolina area.

We’ve got plenty of players to watch, but the most inspiring is Tiger who tees off at 2:00pm on the first hole. “I’m only at the halfway point, only 36 holes. We’ve still got a long way to go.” Tiger Woods said close to the end of his interview. All eyes are on you Tiger, and we are cheering you on!
